Project Grateful

Project Grateful Living is all about incorporating gratitude and positive intentions into every aspect of our lives.

For centuries, thought leaders and philosophers have written about the power of gratitude, and its critical role in finding true happiness.

When we focus on what we are grateful for…our lives tend to become richer and more fulfilling.

Eleven Things You Can Do To Express Gratitude

  1. Be grateful for everything: We sometimes get caught up in this belief that only the BIG things matter. There are so many little things that happen throughout the day that we can’t take for granted.
  2. Replace complaints with appreciation: In every scenario, especially those that might seem frustrating, ask yourself “what can I be grateful for in this situation?” for example, instead of being angry about being stuck in traffic on your way to work – focus on how grateful you are to be earning an income and having transportation.
  3. Volunteer: There are so many layers of goodness to experience when you volunteer, feeling a sense of community, making a difference etc… volunteering also tends to remind us of how much we have to be grateful for.
  4. Fake it till you make it: Even if you’re not in the best mood, you can still make gratitude an important part of your day. Create a morning mantra where you start each day expressing gratitude. Just going through the motions will have you feeling better.
  5. Make it a point to express appreciation throughout the day: As you interact with others look for things to appreciate, and share that appreciation.
  6. Take care of yourself: Eat well and exercise, the more love and care you give your body, the more grateful you will feel.
  7. Face your issues head on: If there’s something bugging you, create a plan to address it and overcome it so you can move on.
  8. Practice mindfulness: Feelings of anxiety and sadness are often strongest when we are either replaying a past event or concerned about a future one. When we focus on being present in this moment, we are better able to embrace the good and feel the gratitude of NOW.
  9. Write it down: gratitude journals are great tools to capture all that you are grateful for. Start or end each day with writing down a list of 10 things that you are grateful for.
  10. Create a gratitude board: Place a board in a prominent place of your home and stick images and words on it that represent things you are grateful for and proud of. Start and end each day by looking at it.
  11. Meditate: Start each day with at least 5-10mins of silence and stillness. Just focusing on your breath.
