Get out of your own way!

When was the last time someone did something nice for you? Did you accept it and enjoy the gift, or did you spend your time feeling guilty because they went out of their way? Did you find yourself plagued with feelings of unworthiness?

If you ever find yourself in that low self-esteem trap where you automatically place your needs at the bottom of every list, to the point where you can’t accept a favor without feeling a twinge of guilt…you’re in need of a serious reboot.

Sometimes, when you live your life selflessly, it seems counter intuitive to enjoy selfish moments, but it is often in these very moments that you’re able to recharge, re-energize and re-empower yourself to better support those around you. Also, if you are slow to accept kind gestures, what message are you subconsciously sending to the universe?

To achieve abundance you must be willing and eager accept blessings, seek opportunities, take advantage of kindness, and embrace all the good that comes to you.

If this is challenging for you, start each day with a simple affirmation – “I am worthy”, you can even expand on this and be a bit more clear. Try – “I am worthy of blessings”, and repeat this to yourself over and over again throughout the day until it becomes part of who you are.

It’s also a great idea to have a mantra that you write out on an index card and read  throughout the day, say it to yourself in front of the mirror until you not only memorize the words, but they become part of you. Here’s an example to try: “I am worthy of abundance, joy, unconditional support, passionate love, and laughter. Wonderful things are coming to me, and every day my life gets easier, better, more fulfilling, and more rewarding. I am grateful, I am blessed, and I am open to receiving all the goodness the universe sends my way. I deserve it”.
